In case you didn’t know… Ric Flair is a two-time Hall of Famer and a former 16-time World Champion, who has had a huge impact on the wrestling business throughout his career. Flair has since had a massive impact on his own daughter’s career and helped her get her foot in the door when she was in NXT and when she began her first reign as Divas Champion. Charlotte hasn’t needed her father over the past few years since the former Champion has allowed her own skills to speak for themselves, and she has become one of the most popular female wrestlers in the company....

Rhodes’ opponent at the pay-per-view was none other than former ROH World Champion, Jay Lethal, who is among the most experienced campaigners for the promotion. The match was an intensely fought battle for most of its’ duration but it was towards the end that things took a major twist. Cody applied his American Nightmare submission hold on Lethal but the latter managed to grab the ropes, forcing his opponent to break the hold....

The newly formed ‘Welcoming Committee’, which consists of Natalya, Carmella, Tamina and their mascot James Ellsworth, will be taking on the brand’s newest female talent, Charlotte Flair, along with Becky Lynch and the Smackdown Live Women’s Champion, Naomi. With all these talents thrown together into one match, it is unclear what WWE’s plan is in terms of the future of the ‘Welcoming Committee’ and Naomi’s next challenger. But there have been plenty of shenanigans in the Smackdown women’s division over recent weeks in the build up to this match and I expect that to continue on Sunday....

WWE Backlash is shaping up to be a good show on paper although the buildup to it can be called lackluster at best. To be fair, Jinder Mahal vs Randy Orton has been an intriguing storyline although that is more than partly attributed to the sheer shock of seeing the man who was recently jobbing to Mojo Rawley becoming #1 contender. Right below the main-event are two of the most hotly anticipated matches of the night, Shinsuke Nakamura making his main-roster in-ring debut versus Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens defending the US Championship against AJ Styles....

One of our readers sent the following regarding WWE confiscating CM Punk signs at last night’s NXT taping: “I was at the NXT taping last night and was close to the guy starting the [CM Punk] chants. It got worse and louder though when the security goons took his CM Punk sign away. I think it’s more about WWE disrespecting fans and the fans expressing their displeasure. Instead of worrying about the fans, maybe WWE should worry about the in-ring product – same applies to TNA considering their obsession with blaming the Orlando fans for their lackluster product....

WrestleMania 30 in 2014 will be one of the biggest moments for WWE. While most of us expected this event to be held in Madison Square Garden, WWE has surprised many with its choice. WrestleMania I, X and XX were held in Madison Square Garden and next year’s WrestleMania too was expected to be in the same venue considering the nostalgia the place held for WWE. But WWE has made a rather surprising choice as it is planning to hold WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans’ Superdome, which is in fact the venue for this year’s superbowl....

The match card featured Ronda Rousey vs Nikki Bella for the Raw Women’s Championship, Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship in a Last Women’s Standing Match, Kairi Sane vs Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship, Io Shirai vs Toni Storm in the finals of the Mae Young Classic. The card also included Alicia Fox and Mickie James against Trish Stratus and Lita in a tag team match, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Natalya against the Riott Squad, and a #1 contenders battle royal....

With SummerSlam quickly approaching and fans complaining about their predictable booking, WWE will try to pull off many surprises to garner the attention of fans. We’ve often had reason to be critical of WWE’s slipshod build-up for feuds, but the way in which this headliner between Lesnar and Joe has been handled deserves nothing but props. Joe’s proclivity for poking the Beast in the eye these past few weeks has depicted him as a fearless and legitimate challenger – something that many of Lesnar’s opponents fail to come across as. And it goes without saying that Lesnar is fully capable of checking Joe into Suplex City too....

In his recent Hall of Fame podcast, WWE legend Booker T floated the idea of stepping into the ring one more time. He said he would be motivated to get in the best shape possible if his opponent was Roman Reigns, who he believes is at the top of his game right now. While speaking on Sportskeeda’s The Bro Show, DDP praised Booker T for being in great shape and felt that fans could be interested in him being in a match with Reigns....

Bella has been dating the former Dancing With The Stars professional for over three years. The pair got together in 2019 following Nikki’s stint on the dancing reality series. They announced their engagement in 2020, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, and welcomed their first child later that year. The two have a young son named Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev, who was born on July 31st, 2020. Over two years after initially announcing their engagement, Bella and Artem have finally tied the knot....

JBL’s most recent appearance was at the Royal Rumble last Sunday, where he was on the kick-off show panel. However, another figure from the Ruthless Agression Era popped up in the women’s Royal Rumble - Jillian Hall. JBL got a chance to reunite with his former manager. In September of 2005, JBL hired Jillian Hall as his manager in order to organize his career for the better. She filled that role for about six months before they both went separate ways in their careers....

There are currently eight matches on the official card for the show that include AJ Styles defending his WWE Championship against Samoa Joe, Becky Lynch challenging Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Ronda Rousey defending the Raw Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss and Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton stepping inside the cell to settle their differences. WWE Hell in a Cell usually takes place in October, but because of the all-women’s pay-per-view making its debut this year, the event is a month early for the first time in its history....

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso - I Quit Match for the Universal Championship inside Hell In A Cell Reigns started off strong but Jey sent him outside for a dive that sent the champ into the cage wall. Roman was sent into the cell wall over and over before he countered with a spear in the ring. Reigns gave Jey a warning before kicking him in the teeth and took out a steel chair....

In the end, it was another disappointing night for Ryder and Rawley as Benjamin and Gable pinned Mojo Rawley for the win. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable def. The Hype Bros (by pinfall) MAIN CARD New Day (C) vs The Usos (for the SmackDown Live Tag-Team Championships) This match was one of the most brutal Hell In A Cell matches of the PG era. These two teams gave it their all from the moment the bell rang and kept on upping the ante and there were a number of unique spots....

In 1999, Hart wore a steel plate under his hockey jersey during an in-ring confrontation with Goldberg on WCW Nitro. Goldberg speared Hart and collided head-first with the steel plate. Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Foley recalled how he used the idea at the start of his match against Edge. However, instead of using a steel plate, he wore barbed wire under his shirt. In 2015, WWE Hall of Famer DDP hosted a WWE Network show which counted down the top 10 WCW Nitro moments of all time....

Mick Foley, on his appearance on Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold Steve Austin, stated how Vince McMahon wasn’t a fan of him before he was signed to WWE. Foley said Jim Ross was a key figure in convincing McMahon to sign him but also believes Undertaker played a role in WWE signing him. Mick Foley felt that The Undertaker was “tired” of working with wrestlers who were bigger than him....

Especially after McGregor compounded the heat that is being directed to him by claiming that he would “slap the head off” the entire roster, going one step too far for the WWE Universe to take it lying down. And the latest WWE Superstar to be drawn into the beef is Roman Reigns who had this to say: There were suggestions that McGregor making disparaging comments about the WWE was all part of a possible storyline that would see him crossover into the world of pro-wrestling to return the Brock Lesnar favour that the UFC asked of WWE for their marquee UFC 200 event....

WWE superstar Wade Barrett tweeted that he headed to this week’s Raw in Oklahoma after clearing up the visa issues he had. Elsewhere, former WWE wrestler Jake Roberts was seen delivering a DDT in the ring at a WrestlingCade event.
