The show opens with The Shield coming out and cutting a promo. They announce that CM Punk isn’t there and that refunds would be available. They say even if he was there they would beat him and “ship his ass back to Chicago.” They say that no one in the back can beat The Shield. Out comes Sheamus, but all 3 start beating him then Christian and Kofi Kingston come out for the save....

The Miz (C) vs Dolph Ziggler The Miz was originally supposed to defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship in Kansas City but he had other ideas. He cut a promo before the match and announced that his lawyer had contacted him before the match and informed him that he wasn’t obligated to defend his championship that night....
The card featured many top Superstars from the blue brand, including the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Charlotte Flair and more. Former United States Champion AJ Styles was also scheduled to appear on the night but missed the show due to a last minute illness. However, that did not stop WWE from putting up a great show for the Buenos Aires crowd. #1 The Usos vs The New Day (Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships) The Usos and The New Day seemed to have earned each other’s respect after putting on a gruelling tag team match earlier this month at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view....
Kofi Kingston defended his WWE Championship in the main event against Dolph Ziggler while Randy Orton took on Aleister Black in the mouth-watering penultimate clash of the night. Elsewhere on the card, the Intercontinental and SmackDown Tag Team Championships were defended in two high-quality matches. The latter, in particular, was so good that the fans in attendance termed it a ‘match of the year’ contender. Roman Reigns was in action as well, as the Big Dog took on The Drifter in singles competition....

Generico won the match by defeating Danielson, Kevin Steen (aka Kevin Owens) and Davey Richards for the PWG World Championship. The heart of the matter… Clearly, that friend of 14 years is SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan who fired Zayn and Kevin Owens two weeks ago....
In case you didn’t know… On a recent episode of NXT William Regal announced a new NXT title, the North American Championship, and that the debuting Ricochet and EC3 will be joining Velveteen Dream, Adam Cole, Lars Sullivan and Killian Dain in a Ladder Match for the title at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. The heart of the matter I’m still not sure how to really process that Ladder Match as it was one of the most insane things I’ll probably ever see six professional wrestlers put themselves through, but needless to say, it was an incredible match....

Speaking in an interview after the show, Paige revealed that the Japanese duo originally had a different idea for their tag team name. In case you didn’t know… Paige returned to WWE programming in April 2019 as the manager of new tag team Asuka & Kairi Sane. The former NXT Women’s champions joined forces with Bayley & Ember Moon to defeat Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville on their debut as a team on the April 16 episode of SmackDown Live....
In case you didn’t know… Last year, WWE got into a contract with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which requires the company to host major shows in the country annually. After last year’s Greatest Royal Rumble and Crown Jewel, WWE made another trip to the kingdom for its third show, Super ShowDown. The event was being heavily promoted by the company and was dubbed as being “better than WrestleMania”. The show was headlined by The Undertaker taking on WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg in what many regarded to be a dream match....
However, there was one segment that was conspicuously missing from the show, and that was Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House. For a long time now, Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House has become the staple of the WWE RAW shows, helping to carry the show during the, particularly weaker cards. However, there was no Firefly Fun House tonight on WWE RAW. Instead, ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt himself – or rather his puppets – made two appearances on the show, but it was so subtle it was almost missed by most of the WWE Universe....
Brian Pillman Jr, the son of former WCW Superstar Brian Pillman has recently reached out to Lance Storm to train him for a career in pro wrestling. Brian Jr tweeted Storm, who has a Wrestling Academy, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and mentioned talking with Steve Austin about his training program. In case you didn’t know… Brian Pillman passed away on October 5th, 1997 because of a previously undetected heart condition, arteriosclerotic heart disease when Brian Jr....
Mansoor, who signed with WWE in 2018 following a successful tryout before the Greatest Royal Rumble, outlasted 50 other Superstars to win a 51-man Battle Royal when WWE last visited Saudi Arabia for the Super ShowDown event in June 2019.
