WWE has been relying on previously taped matches for a few weeks now according to CNN. The media company has also recently made “thousands of hours” of content on the WWE Network free to view for those who are stuck at home as a result of worldwide closures.

A Florida official told CNN that professional sports and media productions like WWE are “critical to Florida’s economy,” so long as the location is closed to the general public. Also added into this “essential” bracket were employees at services and programs addressing “urgent counseling” like mental health; as well as employees at theme park, entertainment complexes, zoos, and aquariums necessary for preserving property, health, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Netflix recently put out a film called The Main Event centering around the WWE. Amid the pandemic, the streaming service has seen a record-high stock market price increase.
