AJ Styles faced WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at the WWE Royal Rumble last Sunday. Styles looked set to win the match but unfortunately for him, the referee was down. At this point, Rowan interfered and chokeslammed the former WWE Champion, helping Daniel Bryan retain his title.
We learned on the following episode of WWE SmackDown that Daniel Bryan will be defending his WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber against Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles and Mustafa Ali.

The heart of the matter
AJ Styles came across a report which stated that he had come to terms to sign a new WWE contract and decided to reply on Twitter, denying it and saying that he did not know anything about it;
Styles basically confirmed that he has not put his name on the dotted line yet although negotiations are surely underway by now. Styles is still likely to sign a new contract with WWE.
What’s next?
As of now, we don’t know anything about WWE’s plans for AJ Styles at WrestleMania 35. Up next is the Elimination Chamber where Styles will be looking to win back his WWE Championship.
