It was revealed that AJ Styles’ WWE theme song was originally intended for James Storm instead. Storm would go in a different direction and the song eventually went to Styles.
In case you didn’t know…
Both AJ Styles and James Storm are men who put TNA on the map. AJ Styles successfully forayed to WWE after a long stint outside the company and has gone from one milestone to another. He is currently the reigning and defending WWE Champion.
Cowboy James Storm is a seasoned TNA original who is best known for his runs in America’s Most Wanted and Beer Money, Inc. He had a brief stint in NXT as well, what did not pan out into a full-fledged run.
The heart of the matter
During the course of the conversation, Jarrett spoke of AJ Styles’ theme songs in TNA. He went on to talk about Styles’ WWE theme song and how it had a ‘wow’ factor. At this point, Road Dogg chimed in. He mentioned how the theme was meant for James Storm initially:
Storm, of course, returned to Impact Wrestling after a few months in NXT. James Storm has since quit the company along with a host of other talents.
What’s next?
It remains to be seen if James Storm would sign with WWE somewhere down the line. It would be cool to see a Beer Money, Inc. reunion. Bobby Roode is, after all, an established WWE superstar at this point.
Author’s take
I can’t imagine James Storm walking out to Styles’ theme honestly. I’m way too used to his trademark- ‘sorry about your damn luck’ theme song!
I suspect everything played out for the best eventually!
