But it was during SummerSlam this year that Jericho grabbed headlines. He had dared to do something that very few in the WWE locker room would dare to even think of. He stood up face to face with ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar. It didn’t even take place in the middle of the ring as it was all happening backstage.

Jericho talked about the altercation with Lesnar at SummerSlam on the You’re Welcome with Chael Sonnen podcast. Jericho said that he had rushed to the Gorilla position after the match had ended and came face to face with the beast himself. The two exchanged a host of not so pleasant words and Vince McMahon had to intervene and break them up.

Jericho said that he felt the finish to the match was just too violent and he was unsure if Randy was okay after the shots he took. Jericho said:

Jericho went on to say that he knew Brock was a trained fighter and a beast, but he wasn’t the guy to back down from anybody. In the past too, Jericho had an altercation with Goldberg when the latter made some comments about the comparatively smaller Jericho. It is reported that Jericho took Goldberg down in the scuffle.

‘The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla’ however admitted that the finish of the match wasn’t any of his business but was concerned as Randy Orton was is his friend. He said:

Jericho also revealed that he had made a comment to Brock Lesnar when he came backstage after the match. Brock “misinterpreted it” and called Jericho a “pu**y” in retaliation.
